Women should have freedom of choice when it’s their body. They shouldn’t be told what to keep or what not to keep. It’s their body, you can’t control a women’s body. By telling her to keep this baby you’re automatically treating her as if she’s your puppet. Why should a woman be bothered about a decision that she has the right to make? She’s already making a tough decision she doesn’t need to be put down for it. It’s not right to make a women keep a baby she doesn’t want to keep. Sure, there’s giving up the baby for adoption but I feel as if it’s harder to give away the baby then to kill it before it even existed. To make a women go through 9 months of pain, mood swings, and even cravings for a baby she’s not going to keep is not right. Maybe after she gives birth to her child, she might even want the baby but I can’t imagine a baby growing up knowing her mother didn’t want her.

Women will find ways to abort their babies even if it means doing it themselves. If we make abortion illegal again then we’ll be like back in those days in the 1800’s when abortion was illegal. Many women died in that era from illegal abortions, because they would be bleed to the death or they had infections from using unsanitary syringes. If they make abortion illegal then we’ll have decrease in our population of women. There was this movie called, “If These Walls Could Talk,” and it focuses on 3 different stories of 3 different women who had their own story of abortions. After watching this movie it opened my eyes to why abortion should be legal. The first story is about a nurse named Claire Donnelly who gets pregnant after a one-night stand with her deceased husband’s brother and she’s tries to find someone that could her terminate her pregnancy but no doctor is willing to break the law. She even resorted to taking pills that you shouldn’t take while being pregnant. She found someone but he opened her vagina but didn’t even bother to close it and she bleed to death. The second story is about a mother, named Barbara Barrows, of four children and she has to make a choice of having this baby or starting a career. Barbara is thinking about abortion. She then finally tells her husband but he seems to enjoy the fact she might have another kid but Barbara doesn’t feel the same way. He’s telling her that her degree would have to wait and they’re going to have to make sacrifices. She has deal with her daughter’s disappointment in keeping the baby and her husband’s want to keep the baby. But at the end of this story she decides to keep the baby. The third story is about a college student named Christine Cullen that gets pregnant and decides to have an abortion. She didn’t realize the mob of anti-abortion activists standing around the hospital as she goes to her doctor, Dr. Beth Thompson.

It makes no sense to raise a child that wasn’t wanted in the first place. The other option, to give up for adoption makes no sense because you’re bearing a mother away from its child. There’s nothing more painful than separating a mother from its child, no matter what the situation is. What if the woman was raped? The baby would be like a scar that she’ll always have to look at as a reminder of a painful experience. What if the woman is bearing some disease that can pass down to the baby? The baby would have to grow up living with this infection that he received from his mother. Would abortion be okay then? A baby isn’t a thing, it’s a person that should be treated gently and loved and adored. What makes you think a woman that was forced to keep this baby won’t treat it as if it’s something not worth looking at. When you look at a woman remember that she is a person that has her rights and abortion is one of them and that shouldn’t be taken away from

Abortion shouldn’t be illegal; it shall continue to be legal. It’s not right that women once have to be the underdogs and they have to be told what to do. Women have the choice as to what should come out of her body and what shouldn’t. Just because you make you abortion illegal doesn’t mean there’ll be an end to the death of babies. Women will find ways to get abortions. It makes no sense for a child to live with a woman that didn’t really want it. Abortion may be killing babies but that’s the woman’s choice and instead of bashing them, you should be supporting them it wasn’t easy what they went through.
